1. What is one of the things that you enjoy most about Christmas or the Christmas season? (It may be the gifts you get, the family time, the time off of work, the kids excitement, etc.)

2. Read Acts 16:20-34. Consider the perspectives of just Paul’s and Silas’ and their actions:

• How did you see the choice to embrace joy?
• What did you notice about their view of God and these circumstances?
• What does that mean for me as a disciple who is following Jesus, and being made like Jesus and joining Jesus on his mission?

3. Read Acts 16:20-34 again. Consider what we can learn from the perspective of other people we find in this account and their actions:

• How do you think Paul and Silas’s actions looked to them?
• What did you notice about their view of God and how it changed?
• What other lessons do you see here?
