Founded in 1991, ACTS International is a non-profit mission organization based in Colorado Springs. The vision of ACTS is to train and equip indigenous leaders for the planting of churches among unreached people groups throughout Asia. The ACTS founder and president, Dr. Alvin Low, was raised in Malaysia and educated in Singapore and the United States. His passion is to see churches planted among every unreached people group in Asia. There are currently training centers in nine countries, including two centers in Nepal.
The strength of the ACTS program is the sustainability and replicability of the training centers, which are often located within a local church. Additionally, the unique ACTS curriculum is similar to that of an undergraduate pastoral degree with textbooks that are written at a level that an Asian leader with an eighth-grade education can understand, which allows local leaders and pastors in remote areas to be equipped to plant and lead churches. Qualified candidates are given full scholarship to the training.
Blue Ridge Community Church and ACTS International have a shared interest and vision to reach the people of Asia, specifically Himalayan people groups. Blue Ridge leaders have spent time with Dr. Low in Nepal over the last few years and are excited to join in partnership with ACTS International to encourage those on the front lines in this region. Through this joint effort, relationships with trainers and pastors, and church planting in many villages of Nepal, can continue and flourish.
