Divine Encounters: Jesus Meets Us Where We Are

One man came with his questions about religion — in the night so no one would know.
One woman came with her shame, thrown out in the street, labeled an adulteress.

Over and over again in the Bible, we see that Jesus met people, despite their circumstances, their past and their frailties, where they were.

In the next six weeks, we’ll take a close look at how Jesus affected the people who came to him feeling unworthy, scared or confused. As we read six stories in the book of John, we’ll see how Jesus spoke to these individuals and changed them.

An encounter with Jesus moved them from uncertainty and pessimism to truth and hope. How did He do this? How does this apply to our lives?

I think for many of us, the truth is that we’ve searched a lot of places in our lives for hope, for purpose, for satisfaction. And we’ve come up empty.

In this new message series, we seek Divine Encounters. We long for purpose.

We won’t leave empty-handed or empty-hearted — if we just lean in to what God has for us.
