Sure, the "water blob" —part trampoline, part catapult — is fun. And there’s the zipline, waterslide, ropes course and lots of other exciting activities. This is where friends and memories are made. This is where relationships and connections form or grow.
But Middle School Camp is about so much more.
I remember last year, rooming with some Middle School boys and the interesting, often hyperactive conversations we’d have. Because amidst the talk of sports and school and video games, these kids also began to talk about things they don’t often open up about on Sunday mornings.
They really talked about what matters to them and about what they believe. We could get real about where they were with God.
In the midst of summer camp, we often see these students moving toward God.
That’s why I go. That’s why I hope parents spend their good money to send their kids. I know that’s why we get donations for scholarships.
During these formative years, we want our young people to move toward God. Middle School is a great place to start or continue the journey — to hear and learn the greatest news ever, The Gospel!
